FitMall Africa started from a simple observation.
Across gyms in Africa, operations were still being run manually — memberships on paper, payments tracked through WhatsApp, and attendance recorded in spreadsheets or notebooks.
It worked, but it wasn't efficient.
Our founder experienced this firsthand after moving to Rwanda and spending time in gyms operating this way every day. The same patterns were also visible in Nigeria.
What stood out wasn't a lack of effort or ambition from gym owners. It was the absence of simple tools built for how gyms here actually run.
Most systems in use weren't designed for this environment. And in many cases, gyms were forced to adapt their operations around the limitations of the tools available.
So we built FitMall Africa.
A system designed to handle the core operations of a gym in one place — member management, subscriptions, attendance tracking, and payments.
Built mobile-first. Designed for simplicity. And built with local realities in mind, including payment systems and inconsistent connectivity.
The goal was not to add more software, but to replace manual work with something reliable and easy to use.
Where we are now.
FitMall Africa is now live in Nigeria and Rwanda.
We're working closely with early gyms as they use the system day to day, and continuing to improve the product based on real operational feedback.
We're still early, and that's intentional.
